stained glass doors with toughened glass placed from the inside, instead
of saddle bars. Often clients like this 'extra' as they may be concerned
about draughts, extra strengthening and break-ins. With the last point,
it makes it difficult to be broken into if you have toughened glass behind
the leaded light unit. Sometimes we will have to increase the depth of
the rebate to allow for the toughened glass. Generally, we do not triple glaze on
doors as the rebates are seldom deep enough, whereas this option can
be used on fixtures (side lights and transoms). |
